Before you apply...
We are pleased that you are interested in applying to attend one of our upcoming marine science camp programs!
Before you register, please look at the sessions offered to be sure you are choosing the one(s) right for you. Our Introductory program is for students 10-12 years of age who would like a basic introduction to oceanographic concepts. The Intermediate session is for upper elementary/middle school students who are ready to delve more deeply into marine science. The Advanced sessions are students who have completed at least freshman year in high school and are ready to take on more independent analysis and explore career opportunities.
Whether you apply online or send in a hard copy of an application, you'll receive a confirmation email immediately after registering which will have all of the forms you'll need attached. You can also find copies of those forms at the website. If you send in an application, you'll receive an invitation to set up an account at the Active Network. Creating an account will allow you to return to your child's account at any time to check the status of forms and make payments. There are also a few waivers there that you'll need to read and show acceptance of the terms. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check to be sure it wasn't sent to your child's email and, if not, contact the Director to be sure the registration actually arrived.
When you register online, you'll be given a choice before May 1 at the point of payment: to either pay the entire amount or a payment plan which allows you to pay the required deposit now and then pay the balance by May 1. If you would like to just pay the deposit now and pay the remainder later this spring, please choose the Payment Plan option. If you choose the Payment Plan you may either let the credit card run on May 1, 2021 for the balance or save $50 ($25 for a one week session) by sending a check or money order for the balance of tuition before May 1.

You can complete our online contact form to request a brochure and printed application, then mail it to AIO.
AIO uses an online application form through a system which will enable you to have your own online account from which to manage your payments to AIO.
At the end of the online application, you will be required to make a $300 deposit for the one-week Introductory Program or a $500 deposit payment for any two-week program (Intermediate or Advanced Program) to hold your place in any session. You'll be given a choice of either paying the entire amount or the payment plan which allows you to just pay the deposit now and then pay the remainder of tuition by May 1. You may make this deposit online using a Debit card, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover. This deposit is non-refundable after May 1, 2021. You may either let the credit card run automatically on May 1, 2021 for the balance or save $50 by sending a check or money order for the balance of tuition before May 1.
If you are registering after May 1, you will be required to make payment in full. Please read Refund Policy/Additional Service Fees for more terms and conditions under Frequently Asked Questions.
If you applied to AIO through the online system and have already been accepted to AIO, you can make a subsequent payment to your account by clicking here or by clicking the link in the purple bar at the top of the screen.
After you complete your application...
Once you complete your initial application (either online or through the mail), we will send you a registration packet via email. The registration packet will include several forms that you can also access at any time at our Parent Portal/Forms. If you don't receive this within a few hours, please check your spam/junk mail first and, if it still hasn't arrived, please let me know and I'll have it resent.
Students will receive notification of acceptance only after the return of a satisfactory Teacher's Recommendation. Give your teacher the link to the Online Teacher Recommendation or you can download a hard copy of the form which they can mail to AIO.
