Blake Hocker joins us for his second summer.  Since he's in the process of finishing his thesis for his Master's in Environmental Science from the University of N. Carolina, he will only be here for the end of the summer this time. He also received his BS from UNC in Marine Biology. Besides his internships with Mote Marine, the NC Marine Fisheries and the Piney Point Aquaculture Center in Maryland, Blake has worked as a volunteer at the Smithsonian National Zoo’s Reptile Discovery Center and the Maryland Zoo’s African Ungulates and Farm Center. Blake is SCUBA certified and works with several organizations including Stop Titan and the Surfrider Foundation. He is also the author of a children’s book, entitled “Turtle Tales.”
